During the two-month summer vacation, our Lions team members have never neglected frisbee training and their physical fitness improvement, running wantonly in Jiading citizen sports park and sweating in gyms all over Shanghai. At the frisbee games on August 1, many excellent frisbee players from Shanghai and Suzhou gathered together. Inspired by the passion of the Olympic Games, the Frisbee Olympic Games dedicated to frisbee were organized. The schedule was full on that day, with a forehand and backhand Huck competition to test the strength and accuracy of the players’ hands to begin the day, a one-minute time trial of two players’ tacit understanding and basic skills among the graduating players. There are time trials for running to an exhausted curve and turning back, and also frisbee races on the beach for fun. More than 100 players from all over Shanghai were divided into four groups according to regions. The members of Lions also enthusiastically participated in the game. Lucia was in the West Shanghai army and Sanford and Jenny were in the middle army for Shanghai. Although they were not as experienced as other players, our members still worked very hard to win glory for the team. Finally, Lucia won three gold medals for the West team, and Jenny and Sanford also won two gold medals for the squadron. The gold medal made of chocolate looked particularly sweet after the sweaty schedule. In addition to the frisbee Olympic Games, other members of our school also participated in many training and competitions organized by various Shanghai Frisbee clubs. They improved their level in this hot summer and won cheers at the same time.

Jenny: The summertime hot wind rolled from somewhere with lethargy but passion still. I went for the Jiading invitational tournament which was an annual tournament with wide influence and famous among Shanghai and nearby frisbeers. The air was hot with torridity, only walking under the sun for a few minutes, I was soaked with sweat. However, the warm-up would never be neglected before the Frisbee competition for a safer and better game experience. In the past games, every time I got off the field, I was in extreme lack of water due to the intense heat of summer; however, owing to the adequate water I drank last night, I was still alive.

Moreover, there were a lot of experienced players and experts gathering together at the frisbee feast, improving their skills and most significantly, enjoying the game with other players. Having fun is the key idea of frisbee. Although my team didn’t get a good place in the competition, we still enjoyed every minute in the game and played pick up later at dusk with the blowing breeze. In addition, I met many people from all walks of life including students at different age, which furnished me a great chance to make friends with them.

Sanford: I participated in the Ultimate Frisbee competition in Jiading on August 29th. There were many powerful opponents. My teammates all came from various clubs. Although our cooperation was not very good at the beginning, after a period of running-in, our offense and cooperation had been greatly improved. In the end, we achieved satisfactory results. As a member of Lions, I actively train on weekdays and go to external competitions to learn more skills to improve myself. I think that if you want to be an excellent frisbee player, you have to keep working hard and learning new skills.

Vadar: I think this competition is a chance to get in touch with other frisbee players and also a chance to strengthen my own skills. What is essential is that the atmosphere during the game was harmonious, and the team players were excellent.
