Throughout term 1, an activity was going on. Mr. Dyck organized a writing center with the help of select grade 12 students. This activity has been running for more than 2 months and has achieved great results.
In order to address the grade 11 students’ lack of understanding of writing, Mr. Dyck specially established this writing Center. In this writing center, grade 12 students with strong writing skills helped grade 11 students. Growing from a few participants at the beginning to more than 20 now, the event gained widespread support among grade 12 students. With the idea of learning together with grade 11, we put our spare time every noon into this activity to help others. Through last year’s studies, we have our own experience and cognition of writing. In this activity, we will share these experiences and provide help to grade 11. As 12B Tommy Cheng said, he is very happy to take part in this activity to help others and he enjoys the process while teaching Grade 11s.
As the president of the Writing Center, I personally highly recommend this activity. I think this activity can benefit both grade 11 students and grade 12 students. For grade 12 students, they can improve and consolidate their writing skills during the process, and for grade 11 students, they can get point-to-point support. The program was also organized by Mr. Dyck, the leader of the school’s Literature Office, who was able to provide assistance for the entire program to ensure that the Writing Center could provide the most effective assistance. In addition, this activity reflects the unity of Nanmo as a big family. Students of different grades help each other and improve together. So I think this activity is very meaningful.
Grade 11 students are also involved in the project with their passion. A large number of students participate in the project every noon, seeking help from grade 12 students. This activity also allows them to get guidance from grade 12 students and gain well-directed support.
This activity has lasted for 2 months now, and we will continue it in the future. We believe the future of this activity will be better. Finally, if you want to join the activity, you are always welcome to join us at noon!
