Drama class

As a grade twelve student who likes to write, I love taking a drama course. When I was in grade ten, I used to watch the seniors acting on the stage. This was a dream for me and now, I have the chance to learn acting myself!

Lately, we have been acting with a song. With different types of background music, we get to a partner and create a short story. There are romantic ones and suspense. Personally, I think Peter and Kitty got a really amazing practice. They were two poor guys who found a treasure map, they together went to the magical forest. However, there was an earthquake and they failed to take the treasure back. In the end, they were still the two poor beggar. I am surprised that all my classmates did such a great job in drama acting, they are talented and insightful.

In this class, I also saw respect and cooperation amongst students. The atmosphere here is so great. When people are acting on stage, the audience members are quiet and concentrated. They gave applause when a scene was over. I’m really looking forward to the Remembrance Day performance next month!

English class

English is really a challenging course for most of the people.  The grade twelves were reading a pretty interesting story called The Machine Stops. It is a science fiction story written by E.M. Forster about the life future people will live. During class time, students having conversations about mankind.

I used to think about the meaning inside the literary works. The inside core of the writing is how much people think after reading it. Just like this piece of work, the big machine control people’s lives and thoughts. People’s minds are limited because of this machine, and they never want to see the outside world. Just like our students, we stay inside the school building. We are so lazy that even the P.E. class we don’t want to move. Phones and books are the only things we care about. Maybe we can make some changes now.

On October the 17th, we went across the street to the park and wrote a letter to our future self. We wrote our expectation and goals. The temperature in the morning really made people feel relaxed. The sunlight was like gold and made us feel warm. I really hope that we can have more chances to write something in the park.

Besides reading, students challenged themselves in practicing the English provincial exam which will happen in June next year. Though it is hard work, we won’t give up that easily!
