Last week, our school basketball team had their first game, a friendly game with Maple Leaf Shanghai. The girls’ team performed well with 18 points ahead of their rival, the ML Team. This is really an exciting result. All of the team members are quite satisfied with their own performance. “I think our team was really working hard for this game. That’s why we get a high score. I am really pleased to see all of our girls were playing as one team and fighting as one team. And that is something I think led us to the success of the first game.” said Ms. Zhang, one of the coaches of the girls’ basketball team. Despite their first victory, the team still put a lot of efforts in the practice. “The cooperation between me and my teammates made me feel secure during the game,” said Rebecca from 11A. Manager Sabrina Gu and the vice coach Chloe Wu also gave a few suggestions about the game and the cooperation between the teammates.

The Boys’ Team fought hard against the Maple Leaf team, but they lost by just 10 points. “I think the reason why we lost this game was that the coordinate between players are not good as the opposite team although some of us had good personal skills.” said William Zhou from 11B, “Most of us had small mistakes.” Coach Mr. Ritchot was pleased with this result, but he mentioned this failure was a chance for the team to learn a lot of things. “Our defense was not as strong as our offense. We will be physically strong in our next game. The only thing that we will do is to try our best to win the game. We will Win!”

The basketball game season has just started. There will be a game between different schools every Thursday. We wish they will achieve good results and hope that more and more students will watch the game while cheering for their friends.
